Ban survival stories

What LinkedIn restriction actually looks like, what Dollar Outreach does the moment it shows up, and how accounts come back.

These are not horror stories. They are boring stories, which is exactly why they end well. Here is what “getting restricted” actually looks like when it visits an account running Dollar Outreach - and why the ending is usually a shrug and a slower week.

Story one: the restriction page

An account pushes a little too hard on a Monday - a fresh campaign, a big lead list, enthusiasm. Tuesday, a profile visit returns LinkedIn’s restriction notice instead of a profile.

The extension recognizes that page on sight. It does not retry, does not route around it, does not “handle” it. It refuses the action, parks the task, and stops. The user sees exactly what happened and when. Nothing else goes out that day.

The fix was not clever: a week of silence, then a restart well under the caps. The account kept its history, its connections, and its dignity. The campaign resumed from exactly where it parked.

Story two: the authwall

Another account, mid-session, starts hitting LinkedIn’s authwall - the sign-in wall LinkedIn drops when it wants to re-verify that a session belongs to a person. To an automation tool this looks like a puzzle to solve. To us it looks like a stop sign, because it is one.

Same playbook: the extension detects the wall, refuses, parks, tells the user. The user signs in by hand like a normal person, LinkedIn un-tenses, and work continues the next day, slower.

Story three: the near-miss that never became a story

The most common survival story is the one with no plot. An account runs at 20 connection requests a day instead of the 80 a competitor’s tool cheerfully fired. LinkedIn’s weekly invite cap comes and goes. Nothing happens. This outcome is available in unlimited quantities and it is the one we optimize for.

The best ban survival story is the one you never get to tell.

What actually saves accounts

Notice what is missing from every story: appeals, VPNs, “unban services,” burner accounts. What saves accounts is stopping early. That is why the limits in the extension are not suggestions, why the restriction and authwall pages halt work instead of retrying, and why there is a kill switch that parks everything instantly - yours, and a global one we can pull if LinkedIn changes the weather for everyone at once. And when an account is fully restricted anyway, the appeal and recovery playbook is here: LinkedIn account restricted: how to appeal and get it back.
